Cira Centre FMC Tower

Previously used as a smoking outpost, the plaza adjacent to the front entrance of the Cira Centre was ripe for improvement. Our intervention transformed this sparse concrete plaza into a warm, inviting terrace. An Ipe wood deck was installed over the concrete structural slab (the plaza is over a garage), a custom designed screen wall/trellis mitigates the prevailing winds and views of the adjacent garage entrance as well as supports several large video screens. The plaza is now a well-scaled and comfortably furnished place where the building tenants can work, enjoy lunch or recline during a break.
